Green water with UGE-W
Photovoltaic, hydro and wind power alone will not be enough to completely cover future energy requirements for all sectors. The sea is an inexhaustible source of energy that needs to be harnessed. That is why we are developing innovative offshore methanol power plants that are located exactly where clean energy is particularly needed - at sea. This creates self-sufficient, decentralized filling stations that operate without infrastructure and generate unlimited energy.
Process integration with UGE-W

UGE power plants are based on a process that makes use of the temperature differences in the sea and which we call eOTEC. This stands for “enhanced Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion”. A patent application for the production process has been filed in Germany and is currently in the examination phase (DE-Pat. pending, No. 102021115614.9).
The process

Cost benefits in power generation
- 365-day/24-hour operation of the system (low electricity costs)
- No grid fees or taxes on the electricity price
- No infrastructure (e.g. power lines) required for electricity transport, therefore no grid losses
- Optimum investment/yield ratio
Chain of effects
- CO2 propellant: produces highly efficient green electricity
- Electricity for electrolysis: for green hydrogen
- Hydrogen + CO2 (from air): for the synthesis of green methanol
- Methanol: as a raw material for the chemical industry and as a regenerative synthetic fuel
